Dr. Vera is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Biology, then attended dental school with a military scholarship, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry. Upon graduation, Dr. Vera completed a one year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO. He was then stationed at Schofield Barracks in Oahu, HI, as the Brigade Dentist for the 2/25th Stryker Brigade Combat Team. During his two years in Oahu, Dr. Vera was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
Dr. Vera completed his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX. His time in Dallas also included extensive training with special needs and medically compromised children at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and Children’s Medical Center Dallas.
Dr. Vera is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Dental Education Association. He has hospital priveliges at Womack Army Medical Center, Cape Fear & Highsmith-Rainey Hospitals in Fayetteville, and Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He is currently assigned as the Chief of Pediatric Dentistry and Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry (Army Postgraduate Dental School) at Fort Bragg, NC.
When not having fun treating patients, Dr. Vera enjoys spending quality time with his beautiful wife, twin boys, and adorable daughter!
